What Exactly is Software Coaching?
Learn to turn your technology into a tool that works for you. Do it at your pace and focus on your needs. Every computer is different and so is every user. Software coaching is one-on-one. It can be done when you need it and with your specific questions answered. Coaching is gentle, understanding, “no tech- talk” help that enables you to take control over the technology in your life.
The process doesn’t involve only my clicking a bunch of keys. I fix a problem and you have no idea what has been done and feel even “dumber” than when you began. Software Coaching has a goal of empowering you to make your technology into a tool that works. Everyone learns in different ways and at a different speed. We take where you are and help move you to the place you want to be...at your pace.
People are not as dumb as they think they are when it comes to their computers. There are just so many terms and concepts that they have never encountered or had explained. We can explain why things happen, how to deal with them, and what new strategies make sense. We want you to succeed and love your technology tools.
The tech support-repair term PEBKAC (problem exists between keyboard and chair) makes me really mad. It implies that the person operating the computer is the "problem". Computers are just tools that are useless without us. I prefer the idea that PEOPLE exist between keyboard and chair. I coach the person driving the machine and make the necessary changes to the machine to make that experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.
