Windows 7 is the current standard and we have been using it now for years. Don't get bogged down in fear and rumors about change and new things. Windows 7 and Vista machines are safer operating systems when facing today's malware and virus infested environment. We figure out new things first so you have a coach in your corner to smooth the way. We can help you upgrade to Windows 7 with tools to evaluate your system and a working knowledge of the differences in opertaing systems. Talk to us before you make your purchases and decisions for a smooth transition.

It is here! March brings us the first Consumer Preview to install and try out the newest OS, Windows 8. All the fun, fast, app driven touch screen goodness that it promises is here. You can be sure that we are always working with the new things that you will need help with in the future.

Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint

There are many new things in Office 2010, particularly for business enterprise users.   Office 2003 is still a very functional option for many people as is Office 2007 with the "Ribbon" interface.  Both can be adaquate options if that is what you are currently working in.  Check with us if you are ready to upgrade your Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, OneNote) and find ways to minimize the impact of the change.  Let us help you get the most out of your Office products!

If you haven't experienced OneNote, this may be the time to take the plunge.  This new and improved version is awesome for getting organized.

Also many of the programs are available for free online via Windows Live SkyDrive with the new Office Web Applications.  Office Starter is also coming loaded with new machines only (can't download it) but that provides an ad supported version of Word and Excel that is just perfect for many users.

Windows Live Essentials 2011 is new with more features.

Download it for free by clicking here. There are some exiting new things in the Photo Gallery (like a new view with the ribbon), Movie Maker (more transitions and easier editing), and in Windows Live Mail (threading for messages and the ribbon tool bar) that make the new package a leap forward.  Let us show you how to get the most from the new Essentials.  The new Sync is providing options for those of us with multiple computers and the SkyDrive space is allowing a new way of sharing files as well. This new suite is only available for Windows 7 and Vista users. However, there is a Windows Live Mail version just for Windows XP.

Movie Maker is an easy way to combine music and photos or video to make your own presentation for family and friends. It's like Powerpoint on steroids.  With the newest version, you can easily publish them to the web or to DVD to share.  Click here to see a project that I did in less than half an hour.  Let us show you how to embrace this powerful tool!

Doris Edmonds says:
Whether you are purchasing a computer or have questions about new programs, Jeanne is knowledgeable and experienced about her subject. She keeps me informed about sales and new products, she shops with you, she is always available to answer your questions, make suggestions, offer help, and more importantly to me, she does not make me feel incompetent because I may be intimidated by computers and reluctant to learn more about them. Because of her, I feel comfortable with my laptop knowing that Jeanne is always available. Thanks Jeanne.
